How to Use the SeaBounders Logbook & Community Rules
π How to Use the SeaBounders Logbook & Community Rules β
Simple rules. Strong community.
Welcome to the SeaBounders Logbook πβ
Before you start writing, please take a minute to read how this community works.
These rules are not here to restrict you β
they exist to keep this place useful, respectful, and professional.
π§ How to use the forum
π 1. Choose the right category
Before posting, ask yourself:
Is this Electrical? β Technical Discussions β Electrical
Is it a general question? β Questions
Is it an experience or story? β On Deck
Is it news or long content? β News & Article
Posting in the right place helps everyone find answers faster.
β 2. Asking questions
Be clear and specific
Give context (ship type, system, situation)
There are no stupid questions here
If you are preparing for an oral exam β say it.
If itβs an onboard issue β explain the condition.
π οΈ 3. Sharing knowledge
Practical experience is gold
Theory is welcome, but real-life application matters more
If you solved a problem onboard, write how you did it
Someone else will face the same problem one day.
β Community Rules
β Respect comes first
Respect all ranks, nationalities, and experience levels
No insults, no mocking, no ego battles
We are all seafarers here.
π« No spam or promotion
No unrelated advertising
No copy-paste spam content
No AI-generated junk without value
Quality over quantity β always.
π Safety & confidentiality
Do not share sensitive company information
Do not post confidential documents
Avoid naming vessels or companies in a harmful way
Protect yourself and others.
π§ Keep it professional
Disagreements are normal β disrespect is not
Correct others politely
If youβre unsure, say so
Learning is the goal, not proving who knows more.
π¨ Moderation
Moderators may edit, move, or remove posts if needed
Repeated violations may lead to warnings or restrictions
This is done only to protect the community.
π Final note
SeaBounders is built on trust and shared experience.
If everyone gives a little, everyone gains a lot.
Write like you are making an entry in a real logbook β
clear, honest, and useful.
Welcome aboard,
and enjoy the voyage βπ
